Honolulu, HI. September 18, 2009
On Monday, September 21, Hawai`i National Bank opens a new branch at 1311 Kapi‘olani Boulevard. The branch, located on the corner of Kapi’olani and Pi’ikoi will replace the existing facility on Beretania Street. The building will be renamed the Hawai`i National Bank Building.
The Kapiolani Branch will provide banking customers with a modern facility, additional access, convenience, and a more visible location. It is the second branch that Hawai`i National Bank has opened this quarter. In July, the bank celebrated the grand opening of a new branch in Kihei, Maui.
Bryan Luke, executive vice president, stated, “Despite the challenging economy and increased regulatory environment, we remain committed to taking a long-term view of our business as we continue to invest in our people, technology, locations and infrastructure to be able to provide personalized banking services to our business and consumer customers. The bank maintains strong liquidity, reserves and capital, to ensure our stability and dedication to our customers and our community.”
The Kapiolani Branch opens near the original anniversary date of Hawai`i National Bank’s founding and first branch opening on September 19, 1960. “As we complete our first 50 years in business, we reflect on many local businesses that have grown with us and look forward to working with many more in the next 50 years and beyond.” Luke said.
Thomas Ishida has been named as assistant vice president and manager of the new branch. He previously served as assistant manager of Hawai`i National Bank’s Main Branch on King Street in downtown Honolulu. Veronica Sonico, Operations Supervisor, and the rest of the staff will move from the existing Beretania Street location to the new facility.
The Kapiolani Branch is a full service branch equipped with an ATM, a night deposit box, and safe deposit boxes. The bank will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – until 4 p.m. and until 6 p.m. on Fridays. To celebrate the opening, the branch will have giveaways and cd specials for both existing and new customers.
Hawai`i National Bank is a locally owned community bank that offers a full range of services to business customers and individual account holders. It has 14 branches on Oahu, Maui, and Hawai`i and will mark its 50th anniversary on September 19, 2010.
